Dad was a Veteran of the Second World War

Dad was about 26 years old in this photograph.  He enlisted in British Columbia in 1943 and did his basic training in Vernon BC. He also did training at Camp Borden in Ontario before going overseas. He served in Italy and Holland and was a member of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment in Company B. Prior to enlisting he had worked briefly in a logging camp on Cumshewa Inlet on the Queen Charlotte Islands.  He mustered out in Calgary Alberta, in Nov 1945 and got home just in time to be the best man at his sister Doris's wedding. The next photo is Dad and Mom in Holland during one of the Anniveraries of the Liberation of Holland that they attended.  In the photo below he is home on leave,  with his nephews Eldon and Curt Smith.  Here is a website about the Loyal Edmonton Regiment http://www.lermuseum.org/en/regimental-history/return-to-battle/italy-to-the-netherlands/

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 249 and the Ladies Auxilary were a big part of Dad and Mom's social life. Dad Ray Morgan and Al Timms in front of the Legion.
